Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning is committed to promoting scholarly dialogue, transparency, accountability, and continuous evaluation of published research. The journal recognizes that scholarly discussion may continue after publication and welcomes constructive comments, critical analyses, and evidence-based concerns regarding articles published in the journal.
Commitment to Scholarly Dialogue
Post-publication discussion is an essential part of scholarly communication. The journal supports respectful, evidence-based academic debate while maintaining the integrity, accuracy, and reliability of the published scholarly record.
1. Scope of Post-Publication Discussion
Readers, researchers, authors, and members of the academic community may submit comments or concerns regarding published articles. These may address research methodology, data interpretation, theoretical arguments, research findings, ethical considerations, or other substantive scholarly issues.
Post-publication discussion may take the form of scholarly correspondence, critical commentary, author responses, or formal editorial notices, depending on the nature and significance of the issues raised.
2. Submission of Comments and Concerns
Comments, questions, and concerns regarding published articles may be submitted to the Editorial Office through the journal's official contact channel. Submissions should clearly identify the relevant article, provide a reasoned explanation of the issue, and include supporting evidence or references where appropriate.
The editorial team may request additional information to clarify the concern before determining the appropriate response.
3. Editorial Assessment and Moderation
All submissions concerning published articles will be assessed by the editorial team for scholarly relevance, clarity, factual accuracy, and compliance with publication ethics.
The journal does not accept defamatory statements, personal attacks, discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, or comments that violate confidentiality or research ethics.
The Editors may seek advice from independent experts when a discussion involves complex methodological, statistical, ethical, or disciplinary issues.
4. Author Response and Academic Dialogue
When substantive comments or criticisms concern a published article, the editorial team may invite the original authors to provide a response or clarification.
Authors are encouraged to respond professionally and substantively, supported by relevant evidence and scholarly arguments. The editorial team may facilitate the exchange of comments and responses to ensure a fair and balanced academic discussion.
5. Publication of Comments and Responses
Substantive comments and author responses may be published as scholarly correspondence, commentaries, or other appropriate editorial communications when approved by the editorial team.
Where technically feasible, published discussions will be linked to the original article to ensure transparency and allow readers to follow the development of scholarly debate.
The journal reserves the right to edit correspondence for clarity, length, and compliance with editorial standards without altering the substance of the scholarly arguments.
6. Corrections, Expressions of Concern, and Retractions
If post-publication discussion reveals significant errors, unreliable findings, or possible research misconduct, the editorial team will evaluate the matter in accordance with the journal's Publication Ethics and Allegation of Misconduct policies.
Depending on the evidence and seriousness of the issue, the journal may publish a correction, issue an expression of concern, or retract the affected article in accordance with relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Relevant notices will be linked to the original article, and publication metadata will be updated where appropriate and technically feasible.
7. Transparency and Editorial Independence
Post-publication discussions will be managed fairly and impartially. Editorial decisions will be based on scholarly merit, available evidence, and publication ethics rather than personal, institutional, or financial interests.
Conflicts of interest involving authors, commentators, reviewers, or editors must be disclosed and appropriately managed.
8. Continuing Responsibility for the Scholarly Record
Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan considers post-publication discussion an important mechanism for improving scholarly knowledge and maintaining public confidence in published research.
The editorial team remains responsible for evaluating legitimate concerns about published articles and taking appropriate editorial action when necessary to preserve the integrity of the scholarly record.
