Archiving Policy

Chalim Journal of Teaching and Learning is committed to ensuring the long-term preservation, accessibility, discoverability, and integrity of all published scholarly content. This policy outlines the journal's approach to digital archiving, metadata management, author self-archiving, and the maintenance of the scholarly record.

Digital Preservation Commitment

The journal recognizes digital preservation as an essential responsibility of scholarly publishing and supports sustainable mechanisms to protect published content against data loss, technological disruption, and changes in publishing infrastructure.

1. Purpose

The purpose of this policy is to support the long-term preservation and continued accessibility of articles published in Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan, including their bibliographic metadata and associated publication records.

2. Primary Digital Preservation

The journal maintains its published content through the Open Journal Systems (OJS) publishing platform and supports the use of recognized digital preservation services, including the PKP Preservation Network (PKP PN), subject to technical eligibility, registration, and successful activation. Participation in an external preservation network will be identified as active only after confirmation of successful content deposits.

3. Redundancy and Backups

The journal recognizes the importance of maintaining secure backups of its publishing platform, article files, database, and essential metadata. Backup and recovery procedures are coordinated with the journal's technical management to reduce the risk of permanent data loss and support continuity of access.

4. Metadata and Discoverability

The journal supports persistent identification of published articles through Digital Object Identifiers (DOIs) and the maintenance of accurate publication metadata. Where applicable, metadata is registered and updated through Crossref, including relevant corrections or retractions. The OJS platform also supports metadata harvesting through the Open Archives Initiative Protocol for Metadata Harvesting (OAI-PMH), facilitating discovery by indexing services, libraries, and scholarly databases.

5. Author Self-Archiving

In accordance with the journal's Open Access and Copyright policies, authors may deposit permitted versions of their manuscripts, including preprints, accepted manuscripts, and published versions, in institutional repositories, subject repositories, or personal academic websites, provided that applicable licensing conditions are respected. Authors should acknowledge the original publication in Irsyaduna: Jurnal Studi Kemahasiswaan, provide the article DOI or permanent URL, and indicate the applicable Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike 4.0 International (CC BY-SA 4.0) license for the published version.

6. Journal Discontinuation

In the event that the journal ceases publication or changes its publishing platform, the editorial management and publishing institution will seek to maintain access to previously published articles through available archival infrastructure, institutional arrangements, and any verified external preservation services. Reasonable efforts will be made to maintain DOI resolution and access to publication records.

7. Version of Record and Publication Updates

Corrections, retractions, and expressions of concern will be handled in accordance with the journal's publication ethics policies and relevant guidance from the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE). Publication records and persistent identifiers will be maintained, where technically feasible, to ensure transparency and traceability of the scholarly record.
